  • Visa
  • Originals and a true copy of all the document that was involved in your entire selection procedure

  • What Documents do I require?
    • Your Passport,
    • A valid Visa (make sure the date of expiry of your visa is well beyond your internship completion date),
    • Letter from the employer if any provided,
    • Medical insurance papers. (You must be medically insured before you apply for your visa, most travel agents assist in getting you your insurance.)
    • Your N5 documents.
  • What special precautions should I take when abroad.
    • Most importantly, never leave your house without a copy of your passport, your passport is the only authorised identification you have when you're abroad. The original passport may be left securely at your residence but a copy must be retained at all times without fail.
    • Get a local number as soon as you reach.
    • Exchange maximum Indian currency into the currency of your destination country before you leave.
    • Should you be unable to get enough cash converted in India, exchange minimal amount at the air ports (exchange rates at air ports are pretty high) then for further exchange visit a bank.
    • Do not keep all your money in one place but distribute cash at different places in your luggage so as to face minimal loss in case of robbery.
    • Use maximum of plastic money i.e international debit cards which can be loaded from your home or by you abroad.
    • Never carry luggage for strangers or help unless in emergency.

    • Emergency numbers are provided by the host IAESTE.
    • Carry the contact details of the Indian Embassy of that country.
  •   Will I be provided with lodging?
    • Lodging shall be arranged for by the host IAESTE.
  • Will IAESTE assist me in getting a visa?
    • IAESTE furnishes you with documents required to expedite the visa application and has no role in getting you a visa other than that. The nominal visa fee charged is a property of the country that you’re travelling to and has to be borne by you.
  • Whom do I contact in case of emergencies?
    • The numbers provided by the host IAESTE are the emergency numbers
    • It's safe to carry the contact details of the Indian Embassy in that country.
What all should I be ready with before I actually take the flight?
    • IAESTE or the employer does not pay your air fare or the visa fee. Book your tickets well in advance and the same holds for your visa.
    • Make sure you carry sufficient foreign currency with you to last a few days. You might not be paid immediately by your employer.
    • Just check that you have the required papers in place. Not to forget your air tickets.
    • Ensure that you are medically insured.
  • Will I be provided any financial support from IAESTE?
    • IAESTE will not provide any financial assistance to you in any form. However, the stipend provided by the employer will be enough to cover your living expenses in the country you are residing.
    When does the acceptance arrive?
    • Acceptance usually arrives within two weeks from when the nomination has been sent. However, it may take longer and if no further correspondence from the employer contact IAESTE IndiaMIT to confirm your nomination.
Would I be received from the airport / railway station?
    • That solely depends upon the employer or the host IAESTE. Please confirm their arrival before leaving your place.
Will I have to pay money for processing the documents?
    • The money to process your documents is taken as your membership fee. Apart from that you will need to pay a placement fee after you are nominated.
